Versatile

This coffee shines with filter methods that highlight its clarity and complexity. Use a medium-fine grind, 93°C water, and a 1:16 coffee-to-water ratio for best results.

Made for Filter and Immersion Brewing

Balanced is our highest-scored coffee, made for filter and immersion brewing: V60, Chemex, Aeropress, other pour overs and French press. Its bright notes of red fruits and blueberry shine in these methods, so we don’t recommend it for espresso machines. Grind it just before brewing: medium-fine for pour over, coarse for French press. If you don’t have a grinder, Balanced Ground comes ready for drip machines.

WHAT IS A CUPPING SCORE?

A cupping score is a 100-point quality rating for coffee, on the scale developed by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). Scores are assigned by certified Q Graders after a standardized tasting process called cupping. A score of 80 or higher qualifies a coffee as "specialty coffee," indicating exceptional quality and adherence to high standards.
